David Fairfax



David Fairfax started his career serving in the United Air Force as an AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control) Air Interdiction Officer during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After two tours of duty he joined NAVAIR in 1998 and was assigned to PMA-241 as the lead Reconnaissance Engineer for the F-14 Tomcat. Working on various sensor and weapon systems such as the Fast Tactical Targeting Imagery system, the forward nose camera and that Tactical Air Reconnaissance Pod (TARPS) system.

After sunset of the Tomcat, David was assigned to PMA-265 where he worked on the F/A-18 Hornets Advanced Tactical Targeting Forward looking Infrared system and in 2009, the E/A-18G ‘Growler’ putting the program thorough its formal Operational Evaluation (OPEVAL). At the end of his assignment he was selected to lead the E-6 Nuclear Command and Control Aircraft program as the Principal Deputy Program Manager of PMA-271 and in 2012, was selected to lead the Air-to-Air Weapons Program Office, PMA-259 putting the AIM-9X Block II through its OPEVAL. He also served as the acting Deputy Program Executive Officer (DPEO(T)) for Tactical Air Programs under RADM Moran. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Masters Certificate in Management from Villanova University. He currently serves as the Vice President for Advanced Engineering and is married to his wife Regina and has two daughters, Regan and Rachel.
